Preston Center of Compassion’s After-School Tutoring Program is designed to meet each child’s learning needs and styles. Our mission is to help children build the necessary academic skills to meet their potential and lifetime goals.
Our caring and supportive licensed teachers and tutoring staff are committed to ensuring each child is meeting their goals for the academic year.
Our tutoring program offers:
- Math & Language Arts Instructional Program
For those students needing more intensive assistance in Math and Language Arts we offer instruction, in a small group setting, taught by New York State Certified teachers, college interns, and assisted by qualified high school students. - Homework Help / Study Skills / Test Taking Strategies
We assist students with homework assignments, projects, and material review, 4 days a week.
Recreation
For Boys & Girls Grades K – 7th
PCC Afterschool Recreational Program offers a safe and fun environment for children who need a place to go after school. Every day begins with independent homework time and snack, followed by engaging activities designed to be fun and encourage social interactions.
Activities include:
- Arts and crafts
- Board games
- Computer lab
- New weekly activities
- and more!
Snacks are included in all sessions! We offer free transportation to the program from select local Throggs Neck schools.*
The program is available from Monday to Friday, 3:15 pm – 6:00 pm at Preston Center of Compassion, 2780 Schurz Ave, Bronx, NY, 10465.
*Must be registered for at least 3 days a week
